Hi, Bree! Can you tell me about yourself?

Sure! For starters, media and marketing are in my blood.
When I was young, my dad was a news anchor. It was glamorous at times (after all, we got free tickets to Disneyland every year!), but I also saw the pressures that came with working in the media. I swore I’d never be like him.
Boy, was I wrong.
Years later, I found myself graduating from Dordt University with an English writing degree and journalism and digital media minors.
I’d served as a writer, proofreader, and eventually editor of my college’s student newspaper. And I’d managed the production schedule and location needs of three short films my friends and I made, all of which won consecutive 48-hour film challenges.
I’ve held plenty of media- and marketing-related jobs over the years now, like working as a PR and marketing assistant to a Hollywood screenwriting coach, and writing content for three different digital marketing agencies.
(Thanks, Dad.)
What else should I know about you professionally?
I started freelance writing in 2012, so I’m no stranger to how this whole contracting thing works. With me, you won’t get an amateur; I’ll be a partner who understands how to effectively work with your company to achieve the best results for you.
I’ve taken temporary breaks from freelancing when I believed it would advance my career in the content marketing world. For example, in 2014, I became a staff writer for Tubefilter, where I learned first-hand all about the world of online and social video. I most recently served as a full-time content marketing manager where I was able to apply my knowledge and skills first-hand within a marketing team and B2B company setting.
And now here I am today.
Fascinating. What about you personally?
Thanks for asking! I’ve been married to the love of my life for over 14 years. We have two standard poodles named Femke and Cleo, and we miss our adopted alley cat Mango who passed away this year.
I love wearing vintage style, learning about history, playing video games, drinking craft beer, experimenting with gin cocktails, eating spicy foods, talking philosophy, camping/hiking/backpacking, and watching YouTube, movies, or TV shows.
